I appreciate the “Franciscan pause”, to then follow up with a clarifying question “What did you mean when you said X?” making sure that the tone I use is NOT accusatory or criticizing, rather curious. The key recommendation and change I seek to make is to resist the temptation to accuse, rather react with *curiosity*. Are my words violent or sarcastic? “Turning away from all wickedness means keeping our tongue in check…” (St. John Chrysostom)
