Preparing for this event already started sensitizing me to dehumanizing or demonizing discourse. Just last week, when I heard Putin speak about “denazification” of Ukraine, I heard it in a new way–as demonizing Ukrainians to make violence against them more acceptable to Russian citizens. But this can’t be all about criticizing what others say. There is much of what I typically say, or go along with others saying, that I’m going to have to rethink. Might be an uncomfortable journey at times, so I’m glad to have lots of good companions! Let’s be kind to each other and learn from each other.
