On July 17 at 4pm ET / 1pm PT Franciscan Action Network will host a special informational webinar: “Nuclear Weapons: What you don’t know can hurt you.”

As Franciscans, we always seek ways to be peacemakers in a troubled world. In this one-hour webinar we will discuss: Which are the countries and conflicts that present the greatest danger for nuclear warfare? What would be the global effects of any use of nuclear weapons? What can I do to show my concern?

Registration for this event is free. If you are able, we ask that you please consider donating $10, $25, $50 or any amount to help support FAN’s continued peace building work. Thank you for your generosity!

This webinar will be moderated by Sr. Maryann Mueller, CSSF, Justice and Peace Coordinator for the Felician Sisters of North America. Sr. Maryann will conduct a conversation with:

  • James Acton – Co-director of the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
  • Ira Helfand – Member of the International Steering Group of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), co-founder and past president of Physicians for Social Responsibility
  • Maylene Hughes – Grassroots Organizing and Policy Coordinator at Physicians for Social Responsibility Los Angeles

Please join us to learn more about the current dangers of nuclear warfare and what we can do about it.
