Join Franciscan Action Network and Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service for a special webinar with Maria Stephan (coauthor of the groundbreaking Why Civil Resistance Works) and Rivera Sun (Pace e Bene/Campaign Nonviolence) on how strategies of noncooperation have won change in the past . . . and how people are using them in today’s political crisis. From boycotts to economic blackouts to refusals to obey, there are numerous ways people can resist injustice. These tools of nonviolent action provide key strategic effects for movements and campaigns seeking to confront authoritarian regimes, win social justice, and protect democracy and human rights.

Ken Butigan, cofounder of the Catholic Institute for Nonviolence in Rome and professor at DePaul University, who will offer reflections on nonviolent action in the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi.

Michele Dunne, Executive Director of Franciscan Action Network, will moderate the conversation.
