Washington, DC – Franciscan Action Network congratulates President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. We pray that God guides them in the ways of servant leadership for the common good of all.
We pray that they act with justice and compassion for the most vulnerable among us, the unborn, those in poverty, the sick, the oppressed, the discriminated against, the marginalized, and those whom Pope Francis has called “the thrown away.” We pray they hear the cry of our wounded Mother Earth.
In a special way, we also pray for our nation. We join with all Americans of good will in praying that the election will bring the healing of the national divisions that have fostered conflict and set so many citizens against one another. Let our nation rediscover unity and solidarity in service to those Jesus called the “least” among us.
Through the intercession of Saints Francis and Clare, we ask that God bless the President-Elect, the Vice-President Elect, and the nation that they will serve.
