FAN released a statement this morning condemning President Trump's executive order advancing the Dakota Access and Keystone Pipelines
This week, the Presidents of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) and the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM) sent a letter to Mr. Trump reminding him of the gift and responsibility of leadership.
"Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy."
FAN is proud to have signed on to this letter from a diverse coalition of faith groups "united across theological lines by a common moral call to affirm and support the dignity of all people and to care for all pof God's creation."
The coaltion together applaud last week's multi-agency decision to halt construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline and urges deep consideration of the concerns expressed by all those involved, including adequate tribal consultation.
