Motivated by the need to prevent any further tragedies due to gun violence, a member of the Mid-Hudson Valley Franciscan Justice Circle, Terrence Lover, submitted a Letter to the Editor entitled, “Code Orange,” to his local newspaper in New York, the Hudson Valley 1, and it was published on June 12. As June was Gun Violence Awareness month, the letter concluded with these words, “Let us reinforce and join the efforts of those working to end the scourge of gun violence in the United States. Do this for our own sakes, the safety of our children and grandchildren, and the direction of the future.”
