Please join the Franciscan Action Network (FAN) for our annual benefit program, “Dignity First: Nourishing Lives, Transforming Communities,” on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 7 PM eastern time on Zoom. As we have done since 2023, FAN invites you to sponsor or buy a ticket, give away your meal to someone who truly needs it, and join us for a stimulating online program to explore the rich Franciscan heritage of caring for our sisters and brothers in need.

‘As the Father sees in every person the features of his Son, so we must accept all people as a gift of the Lord…striving to create conditions of life worthy of people redeemed by Christ’ (Secular Franciscan Rule).

This year our program will take you to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, inspired by Bl. Solanus Casey, OFM Cap. and other friars working with Secular Franciscans. For nearly a century, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen has served the local community, responding to hunger, poverty, and social isolation by providing meals, fresh produce, clothing, and supportive services. At FAN, we complement their direct service, which affirms the dignity of each person, by advocating for laws and public policies that uphold human dignity.

In a world marked by widening wealth gaps, food insecurity, housing instability, climate disasters, wars, and the  mass deportation of immigrants, human dignity is too often denied. FAN staff and friends will spend a day at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen serving guests and learning from them how FAN’s advocacy can help create conditions of life worthy of all God’s children. FAN will also make a generous contribution to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

While the meal will be provided to guests of the Church, as a sponsor or ticket holder you are invited to participate in our online benefit program:

“Dignity First: Nourishing Lives, Transforming Communities”

Zoom program

Tuesday, June 16, 2026

7-8 pm Eastern (4-5 pm Pacific)

Please join us in this stimulating program to learn how our Network can best uphold human dignity under current conditions, experience the service work of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and its comprehensive ministries in Detroit that restore dignity and community, and support the advocacy work of the Franciscan Action Network. The program will be recorded for later viewing.

This is FAN’s most important fundraising event of the year. We rely on your generosity to keep bringing our collective Franciscan voice to public policy issues in the United States related to justice, peace, creation, and human dignity. Thank you for your engagement and partnership!
