A National Campaign to Amplify Active Nonviolence in the U.S. Catholic Church
Blessed Paul VI, in the first World Day of Peace Message, boldly declared “Peace is the only true direction of human progress.”
Fifty years later, Pope Francis claimed, “Whoever accepts the Good News of Jesus is able to acknowledge the violence within and be healed by God’s mercy, becoming in turn an instrument of reconciliation.” (50th World Day of Peace, para. 3).
FAN is proud to count ourselves among the interfaith organizations involved in the filing of two amicus briefs last week that oppose the "travel ban" executive orders.
The Fourth Circuit brief addressing the “six country ban” and its impact on refugees was filed Wednesday, April 19th, and the Ninth Circuit brief addressing both the six-country ban and the refugee provisions was filed Thursday, April 20th.
As we urge our members and friends to join us on April 29th to march for Climate, Jobs, and Justice, FAN wants to ensure that all those interested, curious, or ready to take action are familiar with the narrative behind why we are marching globally, nationally, and as people of faith.
