PRESS RELEASE: National Catholic Advocacy Organizations Release Statement Standing with our Muslim Brothers & Sisters Against Hate
Thirteen Catholic organizations based in Washington, DC have begun to explore ways to raise a more unified public Catholic voice based on real experiences. Concern about increasing attacks on U.S. Muslims caused the group to release this statement.
FAN along with other advocacy organizations and the Chairman of the Migration Services Committee at the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) released independent statements, each voicing displeasure over the intended upcoming immigrant deportation raids.
On May 11 in Stratford, CT, FAN staff collaborated with two other organizations to host a screening of the film, "Making a Killing: Guns, Greed and the NRA" produced by Brave New Films.
The result of the recent completion of the Nonviolence and Just Peace Conference saw the production of an appeal to the Catholic Church urging a recommitment to nonviolence.
