Last Saturday, FAN Executive Director, Patrick Carolan and FAN Board Member Fr. Jacek Orzechowski of St. Camillus Parish in Silver Spring braved the freezing waters of the Potomac River at National Harbor to raise awareness on the dangers of rising temperatures. FAN was proud to again join with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) in taking the plunge to keep winter cold!
Having recently returned from the Paris Climate Summit, we have a renewed energy to continue fighting for climate justice. One of the core components of FAN is caring for God's creation. We do this by joining efforts like CCAN's Polar Bear Plunge. The rising of Earth's temperature's and the harmful effects on our planet impact the poor and marginalized most. Caring for our brothers and sisters and acting for a better future is our moral obligation, according to Pope Francis.
We want to take a moment to thank all our supporters who pledged to help us keep winter cold.
