Perhaps no individual figure has commanded such admiration in recent times like Pope Francis. He has challenged everyone, Catholics and non-Catholics alike, to respond to a call to action in direct service to others. It is in this spirit that the Franciscan Action Network, around the Holy Father’s historic visit to our nation’s capital, is planning multiple events including a training in faith-rooted organizing, inviting young adults eager to share their faith and passion for service with others. It consists of an overview of faith-rooted organizing, experiential training about the environment and a look at the Franciscan tradition and its importance.
The training will take place on 22nd and the 23rd, and includes the ability to follow along with Pope Francis as he canonizes Bl. Junipero Serra and addresses a joint session of Congress when he’s in Washington. *All registrants must be 18 years old.*
