On Sunday, May 31st, organizations from around Connecticut gathered on the steps of the Capitol Building in Hartford to march for climate justice. FAN Executive Director, Patrick Carolan was one of several speakers on this important topic, calling for our legislators to act to combat the climate crisis.
Last year, on Sept 21st, 2014, as world leaders gathered at the United Nations in New York City, 400,000 people came together in the streets to demand real action on climate. This year, the people of Connecticut joined the Hartford Earth Festival on May 31st to remind leaders that we are still calling for climate justice!
Patrick Carolan, FAN executive director, joined several other faith leaders, activists, and legislators on the steps of the capitol building for a brief vigil and rally. Then the crowd marched to the Hartford Earth Festival at Riverfront Plaza in solidarity with other climate & environmental advocates, where they celebrated the Earth with musicians, a magician, and fantastic exhibits on different environmental topics.
