FAN friend, Tom Weiss, the Renewable Rider, has been working tirelessly to stop contruction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which is meant to carry tar sands oil from Cananda to the Gulf Coast. Tom spent some time fasting in the Fast4Families tent (as shown in the photo) in December and met President Obama’s Senior Advisor, Valerie Jarrett. The following letter was sent to the White House on Dec. 10 at the invitation Ms. Jarrett. This urgent request from embattled Texas landowners for a face-to-face meeting with the president has so far been ignored. TransCanada has announced plans to bring the southern leg of Keystone XL pipeline commercially on line Jan. 22.

This is one of the reasons Tom is still in Washington DC and participating in the rally in front of the White House tomorrow.
