FAN is proud to promote Canticle Campus, a joint effort within the Franciscan family, both Catholic and Protestant, to establish a central location of education and dialog. With the idea of building a non-profit collaboration of Franciscan Family members and Franciscan-hearted people, our goal is to establish an online college where knowledge, understanding, and dialog in civility, tolerance and religious freedom (in the spirit of Francis and Clare of Assisi) are primary.
Canticle Campus will offer the following classes this spring, 2014:
*Care for Creation (a franciscan spirituality of the earth) by Ilia Delio, OSF
*Francis of Assisi and the Future of Faith, Exploring Franciscan Spirituality and Theology in the Modern World by Daniel P. Horan, OFM
The classes will be available Sunday, January 26 until Sunday, May 3rd.
We will not post new questions April 13-20, which is Holy Week. (The website will be available to participants, however.) Individuals who sign up can go online any time and post your responses to the questions online. We encourage you to take some time to respond to what others have posted also. This creates dialog between those taking the classes. There is no set class time. The classes are offered in the spirit of Francis and Clare so there is no cost except to purchase the book for the class (or classes) you decide to take.
We welcome members of the Franciscan Earth Corps who would like to join us!
Please contact Francesca Wigle at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to sign up for one or both classes.
