Franciscan Earth Corps will be inviting young adults from the Newman Catholic Student Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill for an alternative Spring Break experience exploring the of Food Justice, Faith and Climate Change.
Throughout the week of March 13-18, 2016, the students will work at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land Garden, visit a local Catholic Worker House, and volunteer in Food Distribution at DC Central Kitchen. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet with the offices of their legislators and hear from advocates in the areas of Food Justice and Climate Change. Interspersed with these meetings will be a strong focus on Franciscan Spirituality, the message of Laudato Si and personal reflection.
We invite you to pray for these young adults and their mission to explore the connection between climate change and food.
