Each Labor Day weekend, religious congregations across the country reflect on faith, work, justice, and the meaning of Labor Day. Faith traditions strongly support justice for workers and share these values with worker advocates and labor unions:
- All people deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
- The economy should work for all of us.
- All workers should earn enough for life’s basic necessities.
- Stable and just employment free from harassment, retaliation, and intimidation is a fundamental right.
We are ready to work with you to create a powerful worship experience for Labor Day weekend! We have links below to the resources for homilies, sermons, and prayer liturgies for Christian/Catholic faith traditions. These were developed by our friends at the Interfaith Center for Worker Justice (ICWJ). Additionally, you will find a Bulletin Announcement about Labor Day if you desire to make special note of the weekend.
