Gun Violence Prevention Letter Drop Toolkit for the July 4 Recess

After the historic and unprecedented Democratic sit-in on the House floor Wednesday June 22 to urge the House to take up what it has long ignored – preventing gun violence – it is now up to us, people of faith, to take this message to our Representatives.

FAN, as part of the Washington Interreligious Staff Community (WISC) has developed a toolkit for use by congregations, communities and faith groups to show their support for gun violence prevention legislation.

The toolkit contains background information, talking points and a template letter to sign and deliver to your Representative's local office during the July 4th recess, when all members of Congress are home. There is even a sample script to use when calling the legislator to be sure the letter gets into the right hands. You can download the toolkit for free by clicking on the attachment link below.

FAN urges all members to take advantage of this unique opportunity to let your Representative know how you feel about the current gun safety legislation.
