Firearms Laws Save Lives in Maryland

In 2013, the state of Maryland enacted a ground-breaking new gun violence prevention measure, the Firearms Safety Act, and gun deaths have decreased 23% in the first 7 months of 2014, at least partly due to the new law. This month a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the gun lobby to overturn the law's ban on assault weapnons and high capacity magazines.
