Fast4Families Tent Comes Down

As long-term fasters ended their personal fast, December 12th marked a new beginning for “Fast for Families” and its journey into the conscience of American communities. The resolve of the thousands who have fasted and prayed has reignited the movement for immigration reform, and last week advocates commissioned Congress and America to continue the efforts to pass immigration reform legislation.

FAN was present on the 30th day of the “Fast for Families” campaign when the fasters from the tent and other supporters gathered with leaders from every corner of the civil rights, immigrant, economic justice and labor movements as well as with congressional leaders on the National Mall to celebrate the momentum created in 2013 for immigration reform and citizenship for millions. In 2014, we commit to continue to advocate for justice for the 11 million undocumented immigrants.
