FAN Participates in the People's Climate March

We are getting closer to the People's Climate March on September 21st in New York and there are many things being organized. FAN has lead a group of faith leaders and we are starting to mobilize with other faith groups to plan and coordinate ideas.

We have finally gotten a finalized route from the NYPD! There is also a big push for housing volunteers, either parish community or individual. Read more by clicking here and move down the page to the housing section.

There have been many updates to the main website for the PCM and we encourage you to take a look. For example, there is a calendar page where you can see events happening on dates surrounding the March. Additionally, there are hubs that exist for different groups, including one for the faith community, with new ones being added every day. Look for a group that stirs your interest and speaks to your heart. Finally, there is a lot of information about getting to the march on the transportation page and we have begun organizing housing as well.

We are calling on parishes and communities to register the institution as a host and if you're an individual willing to host visitors, you can sign up with Human Hotel. Get all the information on the Housing page.

Many resources both for those coming to march and those staying home are available. These are constantly being updated so check back every few days.

One of the most important ways to get involved is to help spread the word about the March to your networks. Use this Facebook page to invite people in your community to get involved.

Faith Communities lead by example. We encourage you to make a show of support by pledging to act in some way to address climate change as a way to demonstrate to our political leaders that we too can lead. Pledges for action can be as simple as hosting a climate vigil or sermon to a larger gesture, such as installing solar panels on your roof. From small to large, each action has a profound impact and joins us together in community.

If you'd like to come and participate in the march, please let us know at
