2017 Cardinal McCarrick Award Event a Success

Each year, the Franciscan Action Network honors the work of a partner who, while not a professed Franciscan, demonstrates in their life and work the charisms of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. We call the event the Cardinal McCarrick Award.

This year's recipient was the team at Unity Productions Foundation (UPF), honored for all their great work on the Sultan and the Saint film. St. Francis Hall was twinkling with lights and there was great conversation all around the room from attendees who were eager to support and uplift the team at UPF. In the spirit of the film's message, we began the evening with prayers from both the Qur'an and St. Francis as a demonstration of peaceful respect between our faiths. FAN executive director, Patrick Carolan and UPF Producer, Alex Kronemer both spoke about the success of over 100 screenings of the film which took place all over the country. We are excited to invite everyone to make plans to host a viewing party when it airs on PBS next month.

All the photos from the evening can be viewed on our Facebook page.

We want to thank all of our event sponsors and supporters, without whom this event would not happen. You can view the Green Ad Book here.
